Description

Maca Bana is a unique blend of natural elegance and laid-back luxury, the perfect place if you are looking for something different, for a sensual & inspiring holiday experience. This collection of 7 unique ‘banas’ is the captivating synthesis of the ultimate privacy and individuality of a villa and the personal and personable services of a small boutique hotel. Lazy luxury and soulful relaxation, located just above our cosmopolitan, uniquely tropical Aquarium Restaurant on Magazine Beach with stunning views across the turquoise Caribbean sea to our capital St. George’s with the rainforest mountains beyond.

Each of the 2 one-bedroom and 5 deluxe ‘banas’ (with 2 bedrooms) is named after an indigenous fruit tree and artistically designed accordingly, set amidst tropical gardens of babbling streams and ponds of koi & terrapins with a communal infinity edge swimming pool.

Our very spacious deluxe villas Avocado, Cherry and Coconut are designed for maximum comfort and privacy inside & outside. Each villa has two air-conditioned bedrooms downstairs, a four-poster master bedroom with en suite bathroom and ceiling fan, and a second bedroom with twin queens and second en suite bathroom, with walk-in closets throughout. All bedrooms have writing desks and safes, all bathrooms have double vanity sinks with recessed medicine cabinets, a large shower and a separate toilet.

Between the two bedrooms is the staircase and a private utility room complete with washing machine and dryer, ironing boards and irons for your personal laundry requirements.

The kitchens are upstairs and fully fitted with wooden cabinets and fine European stainless steel appliances, a gourmet cook’s dream: fridge with freezer and ice maker, oven, dishwasher, microwave, espresso machine, kettle, coffee maker and blender along with all crockery and cooking utensils. They all have a central island fitted with cooking hob and breakfast bar. Also upstairs is a dining area, the living room area with flat screen cable TV and a separate toilet.
All 3 villas feature a comfortable reading nook with bookshelves that help you to while away a few stolen holiday moments. The villa windows are all mosquito screened.

French sliding doors open onto spacious hardwood balcony decks with bamboo privacy screens, a covered dining area, loungers and sun beds to enjoy the truly spectacular coastline views. Relax in your private six-seater massaging hot tub on the sun deck - day or night.

These banas can also be rented for 2 persons as a ‘deluxe villa for 2’ with one of the bedrooms locked up during the stay.

To entirely forget the world outside, enjoy a professional spa treatment in the privacy of your holiday home or on your sundeck with the constant sea breeze on your skin. Let your spirit run free in a private yoga lesson within nature’s bounty. To make the pampering perfect, order a chef to your villa to prepare a delicious meal served al fresco. The local chefs from the Aquarium love to meet with Maca Bana guests and share some of their well-kept culinary secrets in a private cookery lesson. Your dream kitchen is the stage for our tailor-made cookery lessons and you can learn to prepare your favorite dish from the Aquarium menu or a real Grenadian recipe.

‘Art is food for the soul’… resident fine artist Rebecca Thompson gives private art lessons for guests who share her passion, taking them to inspiring waterfalls and palm-lined beaches, sketching and painting with picnic provided.

Maca Bana is striving to set an example that eco tourism and responsible development is attainable for small family run businesses. 48 solar panels provide renewable energy, each bana has a solar water heater, the pool no longer uses chlorine, composting nourishes the organic nursery, fruit tree orchard and herb garden, an extensive list of environmental practices helps to reduce garbage and energy use. Maca Bana’s owners purchased a “slice of rainforest” in the traditionally agricultural parish of St. David’s to restore it to its pre-hurricane-Ivan state by clearing the vines strangling huge rainforest trees and to organically farm short-crops for The Aquarium Restaurant.

Grenada Villa Rentals

Grenada know as the “Spice Island” is a jewel …sparkling bays that glisten in the sunlight over picturesque sandy coves…lush rainforests…exotic fauna…majestic mountains…staffed luxury villas…a wonderful undiscovered and largely unspoiled island. Three inhabited islands and a few uninhabited islets comprise the nation: Grenada, Carriacou and Petit Martinique. The nation’s capital, as well as the majority of the population, is located on Grenada. Lush rain forests and thick vegetation-provide an exceptional green beauty that few places in the world can match.

Located in the Eastern Caribbean, the island is only 12 degrees north of the equator and the most southern of the Windward Islands. The island’s waterfalls, lush rain forests, volcanic crater lake, small villages, nutmeg and banana plantations, scenic hiking, pristine coral reefs and unspoiled beaches all contribute to make Grenada one of the most popular eco-tourism destinations for those seeking 'off the beaten track' natural beauty and charm. Indeed, 1/9 of Grenada’s land mass is preserved in the way of parks, natural sanctuaries and wildlife preserves. The island is, indeed, a haven for outdoor lovers of all types who will savor the peerless natural beauty.

Grenada villa rentals by Villas Caribe places luxury Grenada villas within a truly unique ecosystem. Grenada villas can be found hillside or on the beach, all with the flair that one would expect from the "Spice Island".
